We next started heading out of Page and ended up stopping at a trail that was part of Glen Canyon. The trail stretched only about an hour or so, but we spent some time playing and admiring the views. There were few enough people here that I could let Luna off-leash to have some fun and she took full advantage of that, grabbing sticks and running around as proud as could be with her finds.
We stopped to look at the dam and also to check out a viewpoint of the Wahweap area. The shadows were growing long and I realized that my destination, the Toadstools, was farther than I remembered it being from Page. I had to return to Page the following day to get a permit for one of the canyons I wanted to hike, so I ended up turning back with the plan to park in the Walmart parking lot for the night. I have heard mixed reviews on whether or not that is allowed and after looking in to it, it seems some allow and some don't, fortunately, the Page Walmart seems fine with it! Here's hoping it goes okay. Right now I am sitting in the parking lot at Motel 6 using wifi, it continuously shuts off on me, but is well enough for wifi I am leaching off where I am not technically supposed to!
The beautiful Horseshoe bend is difficult to fit in one photo.
The look I get when I pretend to throw a treat to catch her attention.
The look I get when she realizes I was faking with the treat.
Luna held her stay, but she really wanted to pounce on this lizard who stayed right near us for awhile, then hid, then came out to hang out longer.
On our little hike, lots of these flowers there.
I was so excited to see Utah and it is exceptionally beautiful, but I'll be honest, I miss green! These plants at the bottom of a red rock wall were a nice find.
View on our little hike.
At the scenic overlook we stopped at.
