I woke up at 6:00 am again to go watch the sunrise. It was absolutely beautiful and well worth the early morning. I was able to capture the photo to the left by setting my camera on a timer; usually when I attempt this it blurs me out as it is focused on the background, but I was able to make it work this time! I then headed to the market to pick up a few groceries and ended up spoiling myself with a wonderful, big breakfast of raspberries, rice pudding and cheese, it was lovely to eat things that had been refrigerated, it’s been awhile! I ate breakfast at my campsite, then read and used wifi for a little while before heading back to the canyon. Luna and I spent about 5 hours walking along the rim, admiring the views. Along the trail were rocks from the canyon with labels of how long they were formed. It was incredible to think of how old these rocks, this canyon and this world truly is. Humans have been around for such a short period of time and yet we have done so much damage it is unbelievable! People commented on Luna so frequently agains today, one stood out in particular, a man from somewhere in the Middle East was looking at Luna with an expression that looked quite like awe, he chose his words carefully and said slowly in his thick accent “He…is so beautiful.” After returning to my car, I headed back to my campsite to cook up some spaghetti for dinner, then headed to the building that I could get wifi and charge my devices.
The sky seemed such a vibrant blue after the sunrise.
Mountains in the distance with snow in the Grand Canyon.
The oldest rock we saw!
Studying footprints from millions of years ago.
