We then drove to Juniper Flats Limited Use Area, now, this wasn't where I meant to end up, my phone directions led me astray, but it sure was beautiful there! The road leading to this area was the worst dirt road I have ever driven on, but my vehicle did me proud. We spent quite some time exploring the area with it's large outcrops of gigantic boulders and beautiful views of different mountain ranges.
Next, we headed to Deep Creek, which is part of the Pacific Crest Trail that runs from the Mexican border to the Canadian border. It was a nice little trail that usually extends across the creek and continues for quite some time but the water was so high that there was no where to cross. Luna enjoyed a play in the creek and on the sandy banks while I took in the beautiful scenery.
We returned to Motel 6 as the sun set over the mountain tops. I had planned on a short hike, then continuing my drive but the hiking around here was too nice to just spend a couple hours. I opted to stay in the motel again due to how cold it gets in the desert overnight, although if the motel and campsite fees had a larger price gap I would just deal with the cold and set my car up to stay warmer than I did the other night. The motel is noisy tonight with a yappy dog and a very chatty cat nearby, usually I barely hear the other animals in the motel.

I seem to have a lot of photos of Luna running today, she had a blast!
Deep Creek
I believe there was a leaf passing under her nose there that she wanted to get but it was too deep for her.
So happy!
